Renfrew Longrifle Show & Sale

RENFREW MUSEUM AND PARK LAUNCHES PENNSYLVANIA-KENTUCKY LONGRIFLE COLLECTION & INTERPETIVE DISPLAY WITH SHOW & SALE

To kick-off its longrifle collection and display Renfrew Museum and Park is hosting a Pennsylvania-Kentucky (PA-KY) Longrifle Show and Sale on Sunday, November 3, 2019, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Visitor’s Center located at 1010 East Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

The formal dedication of a ten-rifle showcase custom-built for Renfrew by Wayne Martz and Bob Crouse will be held at 2:00 pm.

All PA-KY longrifle enthusiasts are invited to share in Renfrew’s vision to grow and preserve this collection of PA-KY longrifles, powder horns and accoutrements through this permanent interpretive display.

The Show and Sale will feature examples of PA-KY rifles from Franklin County and the surrounding region including Maryland and Virginia. At press time gunsmiths represented by registered exhibitors and sellers include Christian Beck, Henry Carlile, John Clark, Joseph Douglass, Sr., John H. Johnston, J. S. Johnston, John Mewhirter, Henry Noll, John Noll, Abraham Schweitzer, Samuel Schillito, Samuel Smith, Robert F. Stunkard and Joshua Yous.

Come out to discover the beauty, craftsmanship, and heritage of these antique firearms, each a unique work of art. Experts from the Kentucky Rifle Association will be present to share their knowledge.

The Show and Sale admission is $5 per adult, $2 per person ages 12-18 and children 11 years old and under are free.  Refreshments are available for purchase on-site from mobile vendors.

In addition, the Museum House will be open with small group tours scheduled at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Tour fees are $6 adults, $5 age 65 and above, $4 ages 7-18, free for children 6 and under. There is no charge for Renfrew Museum and Park members.
