Ceremony to Honor Organ, Tissue and Cornea Donors, Recipients and their Families
WHO: Chambersburg Hospital and The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE)
WHAT: Hosting flag raising ceremony to commemorate National Donate Life Month. Celebrated in April, the annual observance encourages organ donation awareness and commemorates organ donors and their families.
WHEN/WHERE: Wednesday, April 11, 10 a.m.: Chambersburg Hospital Lecture Center, 112 N. 7th Street, Chambersburg, Pa.
- Remarks to begin at 10 a.m., from Chambersburg Hospital officials, CORE representatives, Dr. Peter Jablin of Summit Pulmonology, and the family of a donor
- Ceremony to be held immediately following remarks
- Food and refreshments to be served after the ceremony
The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of 58 federally designated not-for-profit organ procurement organizations (OPOs) in the United States. CORE works closely with donor families and designated health care professionals to coordinate the surgical recovery of organs, tissues and corneas for transplantation.
