HERITAGE CHRISTMAS IN THE SQUARE

Continue a family tradition, or start a new one by joining in Heritage Christmas in the Square!  Stroll through downtown Greencastle and enjoy the tree in Center Square, entertainment, giveaways and tasty treats from local community groups, food vendors and more!  Held 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each night, click the date below for details on each event:

COMMEMORATIVE ORNAMENT

The 2022 Greencastle-Antrim Heritage Christmas ornament is now available! It features an image of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church.

Ornaments are $20 and cash or check are accepted. Ornaments are available to pick-up at the G-A Chamber.

HERITAGE CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR

Sunday, Dec. 11 from 1 – 5 p.m.

The Heritage Christmas Home Tour, sponsored by Antrim Insurance Agency, Inc., will feature three Greencastle homes and one church.

Tickets are $15 per person in advance or $20 on the day of the event. Tickets may be purchased online here, bought in person at the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber (217 E. Baltimore St.) or Henry’s Floor Covering (11825 Molly Pitcher Hwy.) or at the Holiday House during Heritage Christmas on Dec. 2 and 9 from 5:30  to 8:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold the day of the event starting at 1 p.m. at Greencastle Presbyterian Church (57 W. Baltimore St.).

The tour can be done in any order. Each home will have a booklet and tickets for attendees who buy online.

LETTERS TO SANTA

Write your letters to Santa and have them posted in the bright red Santa’s Mailbox, sponsored by Peak Performance Physical Therapy.

Drop off your letters in the mailbox, located in the northeast corner of the Square near E.L.M. Department Store and ELM Shoes, by Friday, Dec. 16.

If you include your address, Santa’s helpers from Corning Credit Union will write you back!

LIGHT IT UP

The Light It Up house decorating contest is back! We have 13 homeowners in the Borough of Greencastle and Antrim Township who have entered the contest, and invite the community to view their displays of lights and decorations!  Be sure to vote for your favorite, which will be announced via Facebook! 

The community will decide the winner based on popular vote (open December 1-20); vote for your favorite house by contributing $1, which will be donated directly to the Greencastle-Antrim Food Pantry.

HERITAGE CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

On November 18, get in the holiday spirit with the official tree lighting sponsored by LocalIQ.

The community is invited to gather in the square for the ceremony that starts at 7 p.m.

Bells sponsored by Antrim Way Honda will be distributed for ringing, as the tree lighting ceremony concludes with the magical lighting of the tree by the Lights of Love.

The tree is sponsored by Antrim Township and the Borough of Greencastle.

November 26 is Small Business Saturday. Participating businesses, identified with a #shopgreencastlepa sign, will award a certificate randomly to shoppers on Small Business Saturday.

Shoppers who are awarded certificates can turn in their certificate to the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce for a commemorative ornament prize anytime between now and January 31.

LIGHTS OF LOVE

Community members are invited to honor their loved ones this holiday season by dedicating lights on the Heritage Christmas tree in the Greencastle square!

Purchase a light for just $8 “in celebration” or “in memory” of a loved one, and their name will be listed on scrolls displayed in the windows throughout the Christmas season at the Cumberland Valley School of Music and Fran Kenawall State Farm office in the square.
